My thoughts today are a little more simple. Just a happy thanksgiving to everyone. Since the traditional origins date back to giving thanks for the harvest, I suppose I will start literally there. We had a decent harvest of grapes for wine this year. Not the best year, since the sugar content was low (never got hot enough this summer), but thanks should be given nonetheless… since it is easy to lose an entire years crop with a hard freeze. Figuratively, there is too much to give thanks for (health, home, family, friends….dogs). I guess everyone should take a moment to take count of their own “harvest”. I also would like to give thanks for the all the years and thanksgivings that we shared with my Grandma, Kathryn Higgs. This is our first year without her at the table, although i know she will be there in spirit (with my other grandma, Katherine Jacks).
