Now that we are back and the holidays are wrapping up (still have New Years!), it is time to post some videos from the land of sun and beach. With the inches of snow outside and the roads frozen, this is nice to watch every once in a while.
I took a para-sail trip over the beach on our last full day in Ixtapa and carried the camera with me and took this video. It starts just after take off, as I needed both hands on the straps to get off the ground, and continues until just after landing.
As I come back in for my landing, look for pair of red and white umbrellas on the beach. Shelley is standing next to them in the yellow top. The whistle you hear is the guy on the ground giving me instructions. First whistle is to pull hard on the right strap, second whistle is to let go of the strap. At about the 1:10 point, when I start to turn around, you can see all the way at the end of the beach the last tall building in line. That is the new Bay View Grand (BVG) that the company is building on the beach. 1,200 square foot, 2 bedroom condos are going for $370,000 USD. BVG has condos all over Mexcio and that is going to the their newest one.
At the 1:51 mark our BVG comes into view.
At the 3:03 mark look at the top of the jungle covered hill. Follow the crest of the hill to the left just bit until you see a open air building with a dark brown thatch roof on it. That’s El Faro, the restaurant we ate at later that night. You may have to pause the video. Just to the right of El Faro, you can just make out the cable car line and station at the top.
