Today’s Thought on Capitalism and Freedom

“I found it peculiar that, even though the Americans have significantly worse fundamental data than the euro zone, that they tell us what we should do.  I had expected that, when he tells us how he sees the world, that he would listen to what we have to say.”

Maria Fekter, Finance Minister of Austria

“We are not discussing the expansion or increase of the [financial stability fund] with a nonmember of the euro area.”

Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg

My take:  The arrogance of President Obama and his economic advisers never fail to impress me.  Come on, Secretary Geithner traveling to Europe (invited or otherwise) to advise the Europeans on what to do?  Good for Minister Fekter and PM Juncker for putting Secretary Geithner, and indirectly President Obama, in their places.
